Univ of Central New York vs Univ of Central Michigan ( now - TopicsExpress

Univ of Central New York vs Univ of Central Michigan ( now UCM.... now you dont) vs WELCOME SUBSCRIBERS: Let me begin by giving you something to think about….Is it better to….Play poorly …and WIN or play well…. and LOSE? No need to think of it for very long, it’s better to WIN. Having sat there throughout that painful display of football , it is difficult to maintain the FTP optimism that you, as subscribers are so accustomed to. The hardest thing to accept about the opening game was SU’s lack of dominance of their offensive and defensive lines that we would have expected from a Division I team playing against a Division IAA team. Also, when you consider Villanova’s lopsided time of possession , and their number of successful third down conversions , it could be said that the underdog Wildcats were the dominant team. When you add to that the lack of leadership displayed by one of our most heralded players, Quarterback Terrel “ don’t make me mad or I’ll punch you ” Hunt, SU fans have to wonder about the upcoming season….. Now that I reminded you about what happened two weeks ago….Listen carefully…..Do not overreact to one game!...we will be just fine…..SU is going to “Central”Michigan?.....Our sports teams have played Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan ,Michigan State, Michigan, and Detroit so now we are playing ……..the University of CENTRAL Michigan CHIPPEWAS….right!….the Chippewas are lead by 6’3” Sophomore Quarterback Cooper “Pass”. In their first two wins of the year, including last week’s upset victory over home team Purdue, Cooper “Rush”ed for zero yards, but passed for 345 yards and 4 touchdowns . The Chippewas have also rushed for 309 yards, making them a dual threat for SU’s defense to contend with. With that said , I believe that SU’s overall speed (yeah right!)should be able to contain the Chippewas’ offense. The exception to this will be “smooth”(and fast) running tailback Thomas “Lou” Rawls. He will unfortunately let loose for some long runs against SU’s very suspect defense. With the loss of defensive lineman Jay Bromley and some key linebackers our defense will be a work ‘n progress this season. In order to win this year , SU’s potentially potent offense must step it up big time each week. Terrell Hunt will definitely be motivated to be a star this week. He will rush and pass so successfully, that fans will soon forget about his anger management issues( by the way ….what was Terrell’s favorite drink at his high school senior ball?.........”punch”. To sum up FTP’s feeling going into week two. SU’s offense must overachieve, because SU’s defense will underachieve. SU will pull away in the second half, following a fairly even matched first half. HALF SU 17 UCM 14 FINAL SU 37 UCM 28 PS AND THAT’S WHEN THE RIVALRY BEGAN……An SU student arrives at Central Michigan several days early for the Saturday football game. Easily recognizable in his Orange garb , he is given a hard time by a UCM student when asking for directions to the college library. He had asked ….”Excuse me , would you be good enough to tell me where the library is at?. Being a UCM English major he very Arrogantly replied, I’m sorry, but at this school , we are taught never to end a sentence with a preposition! The SU student politely Replied “ I beg your pardon. Please allow me to rephrase my question. Would you be good to tell me where the library is at, idiot?”
