Universities are defined by their being the universes of knowledge where the pursuit of the free spirits of inquiry, rainbow education and knowledge in its multiversity is the fundamental reason for their existence. But here in Nigeria, mediocrity and mundane mentality, the enthronement of faith or religious spirit, the relegation of the Centrality of Reason is the philosophical principles on which our University education is founded. That is why we are not a knowledge society as Students frolic prayer houses during exams to have their pen and paper blessed. This template is validated by the overthrow of hard work and the enthronement of result over procedure. People want to pass without merit. Why? Why do I lament thus? That a graduate of Accountancy from one of the Nigerian Polytechnics, cannot spell WHISTLE as he spelt it thus WEEZOO. however, I am shamed by our limitless possibilities in ignorance. That guy must have passed via a miracle. The aftermath is now all over the map.
