University of Hawaii Mens Basketball coach Benjy Taylor has earned the Hugh Durham mid-season coaching honor, announced on Monday by the awards committee. I am humbled by this award, said Taylor. The team, my staff, the administration and all of the die hard UH basketball fans share in this honor. Its amazing what you can accomplish when everyone works together. When UH basketball wins, we all win. Go Hawaii and go Bows! At 12-4, Hawaii enters the new year with the most non-conference victories in program history and the most of any Big West team this season. The Bows posted wins over three BCS teams, knocking off Colorado, Nebraska and Pittsburgh. Taylor took over head coaching duties this October in what has already been a historic season.
