University of Idaho President Chuck Staben has proposed freezing - TopicsExpress

University of Idaho President Chuck Staben has proposed freezing undergraduate tuition for Idaho residents for the 2015-2016 school year if the state agrees to fully fund a 3 percent pay increase for university employees. What we presented was a plan that would allow us to freeze undergraduate resident tuition next year and I think that benefits students and families in Idaho by increasing their access to the great education we offer. Staben presented his plan to the Joint Finance and Appropriations Committee Monday. He said the university is asking for approximately $1.609 million to fund pay raises for UI faculty and staff. If the plan is accepted by the state, it will be the first time in more than a decade that UIs tuition for state residents will not increase. The Argonaut will have a full story as more information becomes available.
