University of Washington admissions staff have been hard at work - TopicsExpress

University of Washington admissions staff have been hard at work over the holidays reviewing applications. We received 37,000 freshman applications this fall for our autumn 2015 entering class – over 5,000 more than last year. We saw increases in all areas: Washington residents +12%, U.S. non-residents +19%, and International +18%. I won’t know for sure how these increases will affect admit rates until we get to March, but admission to the UW will likely be a little more competitive for everyone in 2015. To give some context, autumn 2014 admit rates were as follows: Washington residents 68%, U.S. non-residents 54%, and International 40%. Thanks to our talented and dedicated staff, we still expect to mail decisions during our usual freshman notification period of March 15-31. Here’s wishing you all the best in the New Year!
