Unknown assailants have attacked and killed a police officer as he retired to his outpost in Kotido district. The deceased is identified as Corporal Siraje Mulabanaku who was attached to Nakapelimoru police post. The gruesome incident happened this morning(2.30am) near Napei Primary school, Anatoli Katungwensi, the Kotido District Police Commander explains that due to a reported theft of solar panels at Napei Primary school, the police had sought to deploy to guard the gadgets. He however adds that on the fateful day, Mulabanaku decided to leave the duty station before day break giving chance the assailants to waylay him. Irene Aceng, the Karamoja police spokesperson says the attackers also disappeared with the deceaseds gun number UG. Police-563688545 loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition.
