The government closes hospitals, reduces services, and cuts staff to save money, yet it costs them more money in the long run. Quickly getting people assessed and treated means they heal faster and require less medical care. Delays mean people require extended periods of prescription pain killers, physiotherapy or even hospital stays. Perhaps its time to privatize health care. Let the people who can afford it go to private clinics and pay to get their treatment quickly, then that will clear the backlog for the rest of us to get faster treatment at the regular hospitals.
