Unless we have just become friends, or you ignore most everything I post... You know by now that I have a debilitating and potentially fatal auto immune disease that has seriously threatened my life more once. Ive had 6 reconstructive surgeries in past 3 years... And nothing says I wont need more. Add THIS to my already fluctuating mental state, and the odds are not in my favor! I had I pretty bad breakdown this time last year, which required a brief hospital stay to get my meds in order and intensive outpt therapy to get my mindset back within a healthy state. NOW THE POSITIVE! My auto-immune disease isnt well known (often goes undiagnosed), so I had ALOT of doors shut in my face.... But God led me to an amazing healthcare team that not only includes my PRIMARY MD/practitioner (River Region Family Medicine of Wetumpka/ Med Surg of ECH) & Surgery team (UAB Plastic Surgery)... My precious chiropractor( Herring Chiropractics)... But NOW my psychiatrist!! Today we really discussed the damages caused by HS & my Dr looked me dead in my eyes and said what Ive needed to hear from the mental health stand point: Mrs. Millwood, you are so strong. Your plate was already full... And now your cup to match. Everyday that you are able to put your feet to the ground and take a step, you inspire ME. Dont second guess yourself. God gives you these challenges for a reason. Pray for guidance. Continue to fight & take the meds your mind and body requires. God has AMAZING things in store for you. I have a great support team & my family has matched me step for step. My faith has NEVER been stronger, & my Christian family is so wonderful.... Yet... Those words... From a medical professional who could easily be hardened by his chosen field... Who could have told me You know, this isnt going away...( So lets see how numb we can make you...) Just really fed my hope today! God sends his messages in any package available!
