Unli Everetts White-Eye I found this flowering tree while I was - TopicsExpress

Unli Everetts White-Eye I found this flowering tree while I was on the way to our birding site in Lunas, Bontoc, Southern Leyte. I saw the most number of Purple-Throated Sunbirds Ive ever seen in my whole birding life, and made a stop. As I trained my camera on what appeared to be a female PTS, I discovered that it was really a mixed flock. The bird in my viewfinder was an Everetts White-Eye! As the tree was still in deep shadow, I continued on to meet Jervis. As we went back, the tree was already drenched in the early morning sun. Jervis parked his pick up truck right beside the tree and we used its bed as a shooting platform. It was unlimited white-eyes and sunbirds as wave after wave of white-eyes came and left. We only stopped when the heat of the sun and our neck sore became unbearable. How we wished we had one of those big 600s. Everetts White-Eye (Zosterops everetti) Brgy. Anahao, Bontoc, So.
