Unlike FB, Twitter is a worldwide, real-time, open network communications medium. For instance, if you care how our friends and loved ones in Alamance County and the Triad region -- and in particular Elon University -- are coping with the nasty power-outage ice storm thats plaguing the area and disrupting life there in a big way today... you really should be monitoring your Twitter feed. To wit: add these Twitter handles to your follow list and review the past 12 hrs or so of chronological posts: @elonuniversity, @SmithJacksonEU, @elonalumni, @ElonNews, @ElonUpolice, @elonpendulum.
