Unloading my cart the pounds of food that Im certain will be gone in 48hours if my son has any say in it... a beautiful woman carefully pulls into the spot next to me... with each spinal twist to unload then load I notice her... giant gold wrist bangles...twist... perfect cat eye liner... twist... inspirational dreads way down past the line of the window... one more twist-one more item to unload, the impressive ebony princess emerges from her European ride with a huge smile aimed right at me. Im done, would you like my cart? Sorry no, I always forget my quarter... (In this market quarters are used to borrow the cart & you get the coin back when its returned. Weve all had experience with the elusive quarter...) No, no its fine, just take it then pay it forward... She laughed, I like that!, can I ask your name, then Ill take the cart.... Nadya. Why my name? Because Im gonna say a prayer of thanks and I want to know who Im praying about. We laugh. And as she began to walk away and Im nearly inside the truck, my new friend stops and asks me what kind of a name is Nadya and I proudly say its Ukrainian. I thought so... Her whole body shifted from statuesque coming off our little moment to complete defeat. She abandoned the cart came up to me real close and whispered oh honey, you do need prayers dont you...? All you can, enough for all of them over there... You got it. Ill get all my friends to pray for you and everyone there... As I thanked her I finally asked this exotic sweet soul what her name was and she paused and said Dianne and we howled. We knew I expected to hear a unique name and acknowledged as much. As we hugged and said goodbye I felt my nostrils flare as I felt the helpless, but proud tears come... There is support and love in all corners of our inner world, I believe our very destiny depends on how open we allow our hearts to be...
