Unreal. I just received a phone call from the Alice Texas police department, from a Lieutenant, asking me to do the right thing and return an abused and neglected basset hound I rescued from the Alice Pound. After explaining the situation to this Lt. He still asked me to do the right thing and return the dog to its loving family. This loving family allowed Max (the dog) to wander the streets, live with one of the worst eye infections I have ever seen, suffer from malnourishment, abuse and neglect, plus have worms, no vaccines, and who knows what other ailments. Long story short, after numerous questions, vague threats, and pleas for me to be the bigger man, I told the lieutenant I could not with a clear conscious release Max to his previous family due to the signs of neglect and abuse. The asshole then hung up on me... WTF...
