Unresolved old hurt is misplaced & disguised as other issues & will manifest in relationships as disappointment, suspicion of others motives & a need to prove ones worth-it can also lead to anxiety, anger, depression & phobias. Old hurt lingers-it shows up as a vague emptiness that a person cant put their finger on, an unidentified uneasiness or & a general sense of feeling wrong on the inside. A person will unknowingly attribute their feelings to other people or even worse-believe the lie that life has nothing more to offer. Hurt distorts how people see-it obscures their view of living in the present because life is experienced through hurt from the past. Time passes-hurts dont. The only way to move past hurt is to release it into the hands of Jesus. Hurt doesnt have to keep on hurting-let Jesus help you. He will search your heart & show you what youve not dealt with. Then get with a bible centered process group and/or a Spirit filled Christian counselor if the old hurt continues to resurface. Jesus came to save us-bind up our wounds & bring us out of darkness! No person has to keep living in old hurt but only Jesus can give back what the hurt took from you, gave away or kept from receiving. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!
