Up A River: Visiting Fisherman Surprised By Prehistoric Fish On The Trinity River. Every continent is different, each with its own variety of plant, animal and aquatic life. That would explain why Sam Brown of Houston was a little confused when he caught a monster paddlefish while fishing for alligator gar on the Trinity River below the Lake Livingston dam... Brown, an Englishman, is in the U.S. for the 2nd time for work. Hes a relative newcomer to TX fishing. His first time, it took him a year to land an alligator gar, in part due to lack of experience & being given misinformation. He is more confident this time. Still, he didnt expect to catch a paddlefish. When he first saw it, he didnt know it was one because hed never heard of or seen one before.
