Up-Date from PaPa: (Thur. P.M.) If you have looked at the most recently posted pictures , you have already figured out Austin had an Awesome Day!!! We arrived at CHOA this morning just before noon for Radiation Therapy and noticed that Kelly Pickler was going to be at the Ryan Seacrest Studio at Egleston around 12:30p so we hurried to get his radiation treatment done and made it to the studio in time to get a seat inside the studio. Austin was not sure just who Kelly was so I explained she was a very popular Country Star and also won DWTS this past year with Derek Hough who Austin also met this year. When Kelly walked in the studio Austins mouth dropped open and he was so mesmerized by her he could not speak...just smiled...lol.When she came over and spoke to him and sat down next to him for a picture he was Hooked..OMG....it was priceless...lol. She greeted all the children and took pictures with each one. Austin whispered to me ...PaPa.. please let me have some money to go to the Gift Shop....hurry!!! I asked why...and he said I want to buy her a ring!...a Ring?? I said...Please PaPa Hurry!!! So...Austin went..(Ran) to the Gift Shop and came back with what looked like a Rock very pretty not gaudy at all...lol. Kelly sang a few songs and asked for any Questions from the Kids there...after a few questions ,Austin raised his hand with a grin and said I have something I would like to give you..and handed her a boxed and wrapped gift. She opened it and almost cried...the crowd went Awwwww.... Kelly thanked Austin took her wedding rings off(said she hoped her husband didnt mind) and put his on her finger....He got a really BIG HUG...and a really BIG KISS on the cheek..by this time Austins eyes were Glazed Over and he had this Smile on his face that was so sweet....The Boy Got Game...lol....Personally I think he takes after his PaPa...lol !! Yes it was a Great Day for Austin...!!! OK...back to reality...lol. Austins bruising spots on his arms,legs,chest and back pose no significant threat and is caused by a combination of his blood transfusion,platelet level, and Chemo. We were told this sometimes happens along the course of treatment and should subside without any issues.We of course, are watching this very carefully and as long as it does not get any worse or other symptoms develop I will take their word at face value.Tomorrow will be week three for his Radiation treatments so he is half way done..only three more weeks to go ...15 treatments and he is finished. He is starting to have some skin irritation now so we got the recommended cream to start applying to the area several times every day and night. On the way back to Lizzardville we stopped in on Mom Abby at her place of business in Stockbridge so Austin could show her the pictures of him and Kelly Pickler and he also gave Mom a personally addressed and signed picture of the Country Star too!! We got back home around 5:30p and now we are getting ready to head back to CHOA in the morning for Austins last radiation treatment for this week.Next week is one day of Chemo and five days radiation so the cycle will start over again and back on the Merry-go-round we go...lol!! We thank God that He has continued to give us the Strength and Endurance to care for this beautiful child that has gone through so much more than we will ever be able to imagine.Your Prayers are so important for Austin as he continues his Journey toward Total Healing and Wellness for the rest of his days.God listens to his Believers and we know He is listening to each and every Prayer!! Be Blessed and Pass It On!!!
