Up and coming marketers, this is a HUGE lesson (and mistake) that - TopicsExpress

Up and coming marketers, this is a HUGE lesson (and mistake) that I learned early on and it might potentially stop you from burning your business without even knowing it. I saw this going on in a post of friend of mine from a young marketer, and I just felt bad for the guy because he just lost himself millions. Let me explain. All the time I see marketers (more so younger or newer ones) running their mouth on social media and more so being negative towards certain people or products. This is perhaps one of THE biggest mistakes you can ever make (even if you think you are in the right) Now look when I first got started... I was a troll, and I constantly got in pissing contest with other people on forums and put in my negative two cents on things (when no one asked for it). And I know its costed me millions. Now heres the thing, whether you are right or wrong you are putting out some very bad juju out there and it can literally cut your income in half later down the road because of the MASSIVE ripple effect of bridges you burn. Lets imagine for one second, maybe a 2 years ago before I ever knew Andrew Fox. Lets say I got one of his products and didnt like it and decided to smart off about it on someones elses newsfeed. Here is factually what would of happened 1. I would of never met Andrew and he probably would of disliked me greatly (and let his friends know of that dislike) 2. He would of never introduced me to com mirza (a connection that is worth millions) 3. Com mirza would of never introduced me to people I met at his event this weekend (whose relationship I feel will generate mulitple millions for me) 4. I cannot even put the value of these relationships in numbers 10 years from now, but good gravy You see that?! One smart comment 2 years ago could of lost me MILLIONS of dollars in personal connections. Not only that, I would of probably lost JVs and connections I didnt even know about. (For example I saw someone smarting off at peter parks today in a newsfeed, and while I did not comment I will NEVER work with this person and not allow him in any of my circles...Just from that one social media convo I read) Even if I hated his product (this is hypothetical, andrew puts out great stuff) instead of dissing him I could reach out and try to help him instead. BOOM, not only does the stuff that actually peeved me off get fixed but I gain an ally. When you run your mouth about a person or their business, you dont even really hurt them. Look at the Salty Droid attacks on Jenkins and Filisiame awhile back. Sure it caused drama, but a person can ALWAYS win customers back and fix things. People love these two The FTC legally labeled Frank Kern a scammer, and he is one of the most loved marketers on the planet because he FIXED it and won customers opinions back. So when you go after someone, your only helping them FIX their issues and cover their blind spots. Your technically helping them, but your burning hundreds of future contacts on yourself in the future. The only person that loses is you, because while your target can win customers back, you can almost NEVER win a business connection back, especially when those connections will actively discredit you to their own connections. You will almost always be remembered as that asshole and the people you pissed off or witnessed you being an ass will GUARANTEED pass it along. The customers you lost them WILL forget about it, but the influential people who saw this never will. So if you are just getting started, think LONG and HARD before saying negative things on social media. More people than you know are watching and they likely are related to your business because of how social media links similar people together. If someone is pissing you off 1. Reach out to them, befriend them and help them change the issue and gain a asset 2. Simply stay away. Trust me, if the person is THAT bad they will self destruct on their own. It can LITERALLY and mathematically cost you millions. Sending out negative karma into the internet is LETHAL to your business just because of the contacts you will lose alone. When you get on a higher level, it ALL comes down to the connections you have. The right people can take any issue you are having and fix it, then multiply your income by 10 WAY faster than you ever could. They can fix your blind spots in moments, and they can blow up your business with with a few suggestions. The best best best thing you can ever do is only leave a positive trail online. Run around genuinely complimenting everyone, like their statuses, help them for no reason. Befriend your enemies and kill people with kindness. This way, when that moment comes up when they are in the room with someone who is thinking of working with you, they will ONLY have good things to say. Most people will even go out of their way to help you at this point. Karma is a super real, scientific thing. Bad karma is never good, no matter what. Positive karma ALWAY results in good stuff coming back. Anyhoo, just a huge lessoned I learned the hard way. This is not really in response to anything that has ever happened to me personally (even if someone yanked on me in the past I dont really hold it against them). But most people are not like me. Be careful! Rant concluded
