Getting ready to train my team of undergrads, grad students & faculty who will be helping me lead Empoders free 2-week Engineering & Computer Science camp for nearly 60 children ages 9-18 from all over puebla, mexico! and it all starts next week! #Crazy(nervously)Excited orientation for my team starts today at noon and still so much to do..the university is bending over backwards to accommodate all the extra kids who are coming...still not sure how it will all work out but i know it will ! #faith so what am i teaching my team today? How to engage our children to participate in active inquiry-based learning activities to get them to start thinking as Scientists & Engineers from day 1. None of this stand in front of a classroom and lecture for an hour traditional teaching B.S. that doesnt work. Well be turning our kids into engineers & scientists from the get!
