Up early thinking about/praying for/ and standing in solidarity with my colleague comrades who are in #Ferguson at the #BlackLivesMatter movement because...seriously black lives do matter. They mattered in 1619 when the first 20 Africans arrived in America; they mattered when black soldiers volunteered and fought in the War of 1812, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil War (to name just a few); they mattered when Harriet Tubman ran away, when Claudette Colvin wouldnt get up, and when Ida B. Wells risked her life to investigate and expose lynching; they mattered during the protests against Vietnam, the Civil Rights Movement, and during 9/11; they matter, even when we are fighting wars against the system and against each other.
