Up in Aberdeen tonight, Professor Tony Martin, one of the worlds - TopicsExpress

Up in Aberdeen tonight, Professor Tony Martin, one of the worlds leading experts in marine mammals, will be giving his talk: Reclaiming South Georgia for its birds: the worlds largest rodent eradication operation, to the North-East Scotland branch of Club. Tony was outposted to South Georgia, (an island in the South Atlantic traditionally renowned for being home to millions of seabirds during the breeding season), in 2010. His role there was to oversee a multi-million pound operation to recover the native wildlife by removing the invasive species which have been introduced to the island over the last 200 years. To find out how he got on, join us in the Sportsmans Club at 7.30pm tonight. Members and non-members interested in finding out more about the Club and our activities are very welcome to come along.
