Up late digging deep and writing... This is from an upcoming book Diaries of a Warrior. I have been fascinated and a avid student of Bushido and the Samurai culture for almost 20 years. This is a book I would have written whether I became a career author or not. The samurai embody the principle of acceptance unmatched by any historical or mythological figure I can recall. Hard wired to live in service of their emperor, to protect their land, and willingly sacrifice their life if believed to sanctify their honor. To the samurai their principled way of life was not up for negotiation or subjective interpretation. It was direct and carved in stone. Perhaps the most outstanding attribute of the warrior is they know what must be done, fully understanding the weight of their choice, and they continually follow through. The warrior internalizes the resistance and acts anyways. They are neither immune to fear nor without attachment to life. They accept the warriors path and the experiences it offers. Those who are contracted by fear often forfeit their life early on, where a funeral would be merely formality. A warrior releases fear through a life devoted to serving the evolvement of what they love. They remove their singular importance from the bigger picture, knowing their role has been executed, and can await whats to come with a clear mind and settled heart.
