Up-to-the-minute: Last Round Boxer would like to take a moment to thank all the boxers for their performance and professionalism displayed at the CASINO CHAOS last evening. The card showed just how great Canadian talent is. Thank you to all the sparring partners, fans and family, volunteers, the Casino staff and management, our sponsors, the media, everyone who provided encouragement and to my family for helping me to keep this dream alive. by Danny Doiron CASINO CHAOS FIGHT RESULTS -Saturday, March 8, 2014 As Sarah Jayne Doiron dazzled the crowd with her rendition of the Canadian National Anthem it was apparent that electricity filled Casinio NB from wall-to-wall. The fighters came in from six Canadian Provinces and did not disappoint the fans that came to see the best of the best in their respective divisions. Troy Talbot, Moncton, NB 264 lbs improved to 3-1 (1 KO) with an impressive unanimous decision victory over the game Donald Ducky Willis, Windsor, Ontario in an entertaining heavyweight match-up that went the full four rounds. Willis saw his record fall to 1-3 (1 KO) Talbot had won their previous encounter by unanimous decision on February 2, 1013. Both fighters gave it 110% in every round and then some. This was one of the best heavyweight fights in recent memory. Next, Nathan Millier of Elsipogtog, NB 172 lbs showed why he is one of the hottest prospects on the Canadian Boxing landscape by stopping Denis Martin, Edmundston, NB 170 lbs in the second round. Martin was down twice in the first round and again in the second round when the bout was stopped. Millier was coming off stunning victory over Juan Sanchez whom he KOd on February 2, 2014 in round three. Milliers record is a perfect 5-0 (3 KO). The game Martin refused to quit and continued to give it everything he had right until the final seconds of the fight. Marcel Little Magic Maillet, Pointe de Chene, NB, 140 lbs captured the National Boxing Authority Maritime Welterweight Championship by scoring a majority decision victory over Justin Bourgeois, Springhill, NS 144 lbs in a hard fought contest that had the fans on the edge of their seats throughout the six round battle to the finish. Bourgeois is the former Elite 1 Canadian MMA Featherweight Champion. Neither fighter was hard to find and this bout could of been fought in a phone booth. These two fought every second of every round. Richard Relentless Arsenault, Summerside, PEI, 172 lbs, the NBA Maritime Super Middleweight Champion captured the National Boxing Authority Maritime Light Heavyweight Crown in spectacular fashion stopping the highly skilled Aaron Crawley of Halifax, NS 164 lbs in the 5th round. Crawley and his manager Bob Tapper asked for a rematch following the contest. Arsenault improved to 3-0 (2 KO) in Boxing, while his mixed MMA record now stands at 13-4. Arsenault agreed to give Crawley a rematch upon hearing of the challenge. 130 lbs Dominic The Dominator Babineau, Richibucto Village, NB, the former three time Canadian Amateur Champion and 10 time golden gloves champions dispatched Lethridge, Alberta veteran Dave Shaker McQuaker, 132 lbs with a dominating performance and first round stoppage that left the crowd in awe with the speed and accuracy shown by the young Babineau. McQuaker was down twice and in trouble several times during the fight, unable to contend with Babineaus ring mastery. McQuaker showed the kind of heart that makes boxing what it is. Jonah Arbuckle, Moncton, NB, 161 lbs improved his record to 9-3 (1 KO) capturing the National Boxing Authority Atlantic Super Middleweight Championship with a convincing 6 round unanimous decision over Teddy Reno 160 lbs from Halifax, NS. Arbuckle boxed in and out all night long landing sharp crisp shots, and countless jabs found their mark in what was as flawless a performance as it gets. Reno kept moving forward trying to force the action, while the elusive Arbuckle counter punched effectively. This bout was a real old style boxing classic. In the main event, the Southwest-Nova Middleweight Champion Stuart The West Coast Warlord McLellan 155 lbs formerly of Williams Lake, BC and now fighting out of Hants County, NS captured the National Boxing Authority Eastern Canadian Middleweight Championship over John El Matador Gonzalez 158 lbs from Chicoutimi, Quebec with a unanimous six round decision. This was a classic bout of boxer versus puncher. McLellan landed clean crisp shots, while Gonzalez did some of his better work on the inside. McLellan used good lateral movement to offset Gonzalez who struggled to land repeatedly throughout the contest. McLellan record now stands at 10 win, 3 draws (2 KO), while Gonzalez saw his record fall to 3-1.
