Upasaka Kameng > Tribes of North East India Please Dont blame the Bodos! Killing innocents is a condemnable act & it dissapoints me that the NDFB Songbojit faction was involved in the recent killings of Adivasis in Bodoland area. However blaming the Bodos for all the problems confronting BTC areas is not a wise move & is not appreciated! While the Anti-Tribal Govt of Assam, Assam Police & certain Self Proclaimed NGOs are quick to always blame the Indegenious Tribal people for the mess that has been created in Tribal areas! The problem of Assam is that of land alienation of Indegenious Tribal Land that has over the years been ruthlessly encroached upon by Bangladeshi Immigrants ( who happen to be a major vote bank of a certain Secular party in Assam ), Adivasis of Chota Nagpur area of Jharkhand & Non Tribals. The Bodos retaliate for the genuine fear that the tide of immigrants that continues to this day will gradually make them a minority in their own traditional lands as is the case of Tripura, where Bangladeshis rule & the Tribes meekly obey! If the Bodos lose their traditional lands where will they go? Why will they live as second class citizens or refugees for the failure by the Government to prevent infiltration & encroachment of Tribal lands. When and which Government of India is going to finally address the problem of Illegal Immigration & Loss of Tribal Land,Culture & Indentity! Hence, I support the urgent acknowledgement by the Government of India to look into the issues of Indigenous Tribal People of North East Region & also discuss the road map towards the establishment of a Bodoland State! I agree on the Government of Indias stand that they will not negotiate with terrorists & deal terrorism with a iron hand yet all insurgents need to be gradually brought to the negotiation table! Peace in Upper Assam is necessary to ensure peace across the complicated Assam - Arunachal Pradesh state border & Indias international border with Bhutan & Myanmar. Jai Bodo! Jai Bodofa! Long Live Bodoland!
