Upcoming Election - Sharon Hudsons Recommendations 2014 Voting - TopicsExpress

Upcoming Election - Sharon Hudsons Recommendations 2014 Voting is a duty and a privilege, but it is often difficult to know who to choose. Several people have asked me who I recommend in the upcoming election. I am humbled by the request, and happy to share. I am only going to share my pick for the candidates who I strongly support. I will not list any hold your nose choices. Sorry, youre on your own there! I have personally met all of these candidates and have confidence that they will represent me well with their votes, especially considering other choices. District Attorney - Andrew Murray Board of County Commissioners at Large Scott Carlisle, Emily Zuyus, Patricia Cotham Board of County Commissioners District One - Jim Puckett County clerk of Superior Court - I have only met Martha Efird, but she seemed very nice. NC Superior Court - Bob Hunter, Eric Levinson, and Mike Robinson. District Court Judge for District 26 - Matt Osman, Sean Smith Vote AGAINST the constitutional amendment. While at first it may seem like a good idea, it will give too much power to a judge to decide if someone will get a trial by jury. Here is a link that explains more: watchdogwire/northcarolina/2014/10/20/nc-amendment-on-ballot-may-have-unintended-consequences/ I am voting AGAINST the .25 sales tax increase. Not because I don’t want to pay teachers more, but because from what I have read the proposal is poorly worded and there are no assurances that the money would actually go to teacher pay. I am a fiscal conservative, I am for lower taxes. Here is a link to a Charlotte Observer article, I found the comments below it worth reading. charlotteobserver/2014/10/16/5247005/teachers-association-formally.html?fb_action_ids=729138970455960&fb_action_types=ogments#.VFFD2hZA_Ak And there you have it. I am not endorsing candidates in any of the races I did not specifically mention. I either dont like them, I dont know them, or I cant decide. I suggest you get a list of conservative judges before you go to the polls. Remember - agreement is not required. Good luck and happy voting! Sharon Hudson
