Update 1:25/15 Lets try this again. Bert appears to be doing better. The rash seems to be improving slightly, the diarrhea has improved significantly. He has had 5 rounds of Photopheresis and 5 doses of Valcade (which he will receive weekly now). Platelets took a bit of a dive earlier in the week but rebounded some. Todays dose of Valcade could knock them down again. Today is CRP jumped again to 20. As a precaution his APN ordered blood cultures. These take about 5 days to result. They worry about infections as his immune system is so seriously suppressed . While there appears to be slight improvement, his immune system is still very active despite being suppressed which means it is still significantly reacting. Therefore we are no where near having the GVH under control. This coming week is our off week for photopheresis so unless some infection sets in, we should have a calm and quiet treatment week. Im doing better. Had a major meltdown today and while I could not explain and trust me I tried, it seems to have passed and my swollen sore eyes will be heading to bed soon. Thank you all got the prayers for bert and for me.
