Update 5: Trains have begun to resume through the CBD, however - TopicsExpress

Update 5: Trains have begun to resume through the CBD, however they are not stopping at Fortitude Valley station due to extensive storm damage at the Valley Metro Building, above the Fortitude Valley station. Limited services have also returned on the following lines: Ferny Grove line: • Limited services have resumed between Roma Street and Ferny Grove. Caboolture/Sunshine Coast line: • Limited services have resumed between Roma Street and Nambour. Shorncliffe line: • Limited services have resumed between Roma Street and Shorncliffe. Ipswich line: • Limited services have resumed between Corinda and Rosewood. Gold Coast line: • Limited services have resumed between Kingston and Varsity Lakes. Buses continue to replace trains where possible. Our crews will continue to work hard throughout the night to resume all services to normal. The damage to the rail network due to this evening’s storm has been extensive, and it is unlikely that the whole network will be restored in time for tomorrow morning’s peak. For this reason, we ask that our customers check the TransLink website before they travel in the morning. Significant damage has been caused to the network including rooves in the overhead wires at Moorooka and Toowong, two large fallen trees in the overhead power lines at Milton and power lines down at Moolabin. We thank our customers for their understanding as we work to return the network to normal and get them safely on their way
