Update All of the massive wooden railway sleepers, the huge iron whale pot and a lot of the really big rocks that we had around the Bait House have all been moved around by the force of the waves. The whole area from the road to the front of the Bait House has been swept away. Our underground electricity cable isn’t underground any longer because all of the shingle that used to cover it has been swept out to sea. We’re getting a generator in case the electricity line is completely severed and our water pumps can’t work. The big doors on the seaward side of “Octopus Headquarters” (the old Surf Club) have either been ripped off or smashed. All of our equipment stored in the basement of the building is strewn along the beach. There’s masses of bull kelp heaped up over our remaining equipment in the basement. I’ll post some photos when I get them. It’s a mess!! !! But no one was hurt, our marine life is still going strong and everything will look better tomorrow. Thanks to all of you for your good wishes
