Update Aug. 10th, 2014(10 Days old): Another eventful day in the world of the Young family. Chase got his umbilical line removed today which took a little bit more effort than first anticipated. The line is now out and it has been replaced with a PICC line that starts in his leg. Accompaning his PICC line is a super cool sock that helps hold it in place! We did get the long talked about blood transfusion which sounds like it should be the only one he will need pending any major changes.They did increase his feedings today after he finished up the medicine to close his heart valve which we can report is 100% closed! Chase did manage to gain about 40 grams today weighing in at a whopping 1 lb 14 oz. With the addition of this lean muscle comes the confidence of an ox which worked against him a little today. Our muscle man managed to rip his feeding tube right out of his mouth when he was all jacked up. But he forgot that this means the tube needed to be put back which he nor mom liked. He threw a curve ball at mom today during a diaper change. Mom set a record pace with a diaper change but just when she was about to celebrate her new record he dropped a BOMB! Almost as if he was saying, ah, ah, ah not so fast Mom in comes a new round of doo doo! Oh how our big guy is developing his own little personality!
