Update: Behind the scenes with Tommys babies. I know the holidays have just recently passed and were probably all overwhelmed with bills and financially strapped. Unfortunately this is an emergency for the babies. Those who have been following us know about all the destruction to our houses in the colonies. Also many of you are aware or if your not or forgotten we lost our storage and recovery center this past spring. We had to build in a quick hurry some temporary outside recovery shelters until we can find a place. Obviously these recovery shelters are unheated. The playhouse that was donated and I showed several months ago the people never returned our call and now we were faced not only with disappointment, but desperately needing to rebuild more houses for the babies to be safe and warm this winter. Fortunately one wonderful woman from New Jersey sent a couple of Kitty Tubes to house 6 babies. Were a long way off from completely our colonies. In the last several months we trapped several babies because they needed medical care. Our facilities have no heat and we rely on the snuggle safe disc and heavy duty blankets and hay to keep them warm. Now I am asking for help. If anything we desperately need immediately its the snuggle safe microwavable disc to keep our babies warm. Those that have been experiencing these brutal cold temperatures you know exactly how unmerciful this weather has been. We also need quilts that are unsoiled, not torn or ripped, clean/ no perfume, and in great condition. In addition we certainly need lots of paper towels, trash bags, and dog training pads for the babies who have soiling issues. Some of these temporary recovery shelters are a good distance and it leaves our recovering babies too long without heat. This is one of the reasons why and also we had to bring in many of the babies until their colonies are finished. My apologies for asking for help. We lost people who have been long and devoted supporters of Tommys. If you can help in anyway whether sharing this post or donating we would certainly appreciate any help.
