Update: Carters results of the CT show a massive stroke on the right side of his brain. At the bare minimum, there will be the need for PT and Speech therapy. He is still on ECMO and can remain there as long as the stroke sight does not become hemorrhagic (bleeding). If that does happen, he will have no choice but to come off ECMO and hope that the other machines he was on before that will be strong enough to make him stable. As of now, his lungs do not look any better than they were yesterday. There is still a severe infection in his lungs and his heart function is still decreased. On the more positive side, he did open his eyes for a short time to where Matt and I were able to see those beautiful blue eyes and talk to him for a little bit. The doctors say we are not at a hopeless stage yet and there are still solutions to get him through this. However, this is a major hurdle that we did not want to have to go through. He is in a very critical state right now and really needs all the love and support he can get! Please keep him in thought and prayer. We need to fight for him right now more than ever so we can get on the road to recovery. Thank you all so much for all you do already. It means a lot to us.
