Update: First we would like to thank everyone who has prayed for Mallory and for us. We must say all of your kindness and willingness to offer help has flooded our hearts with gratitude. We are home. We havent said a whole lot about it because we were so anxious to get here and let me tell you; it was not a simple endeavor! The process began last Monday and as the days went on with conference calls and meeting it really began to take a toll on me personally until yesterday and we were told things were lining up correctly. This morning we got the call that we would be leaving this afternoon. Planes, Trains or Automobiles was the question of the day until Dr. Mean as Mallory called him stepped in and said she had to travel by air ambulance! And that we did! I had a secret desire to travel to New York but not under these circumstances. We met some really kind people and we have said all along that God certainly went before us and opened all kinds of doors for us. We met someone who is our guardian angel. She brought us breakfast lunch and dinner to the hospital and would sit with Mallory for us to step out for a few minutes. The parents of the young man who was with our girls were the sweetest people and came daily to check on Mallory as did one of the witnesses. Our hearts will never be the same because of the loving kindness shown to us by these people. Mallory has a long way to go in her healing process but we felt the love and prayers going up on her behalf. Wish our baby girl could have come home with us but she still needs to heal and a rehab facility is the best place for her at this time. Please continue to pray for her because as we all know, rehab is not easy nor is it pain free...pray for the therapist and all of us too. Once again thank you all so much.
