Update! For those of you that don’t know, the Dog Training rEvolution is made possible, in HUGE part, by YOU through your voluntary contributions on patreon/ZakGeorge . The vision we share is making sure that average people, hobbyists and professionals have the ability to learn how to teach dogs without the outdated tools of yesterday including electric shock collars, choke chains and prong collars. I have been committed to countering other professionals who insist that teaching a dog to avoid pain or discomfort is an acceptable way to interact with a dog. This is wrong as these methods do nothing to promote happiness and a loving bond between a person and their dog. (Though, do not confuse this criticism of average people that use these tools. Remember average people use these devices because they think they are getting reputable advice from these traditional trainers, not understanding that dog training is a completely unregulated industry). In 2014, I was able to go full time on YouTube thanks, in large part, to our Patreon crowdfunding campaign. Your voluntary contributions allow us to have the equipment, technology and staff we need to make the best videos we can to promote relationship based training to the general public. 2015 is a promising year and the revolution in dog training is poised to go where none of us, even me, ever thought it could. Our audience size continues to grow at a rate of 15,000 new subscribers per MONTH (an all time high), and over 700,000 video views monthly (also an all time high). Our efforts are gaining serious steam and clearly, as a community, we are doing something right. But there’s more to do. The more people that know of humane, ethical, positive teaching, the faster we can continue to raise the standards in how we teach dogs a a society. This is the stated and clear goal of the Dog Training rEvolution! So what’s next? I would love to be able to grow my production and research team in order to make interesting, diverse and meaningful videos in the future!
