Update ~ I went to my monthly check in at the hand surgeon today, and we discussed my progress. Most of it is going well, healing nice, but the xray shows that as the swelling is going down, one of my pins, called k-wires, is poking out (I drew a black dot on the point). This knuckle was almost completely eviscerated in the accident and while he tried to get it to hold with pins, it didnt quite work. So, on Tuesday, he is going to cut me back open and remove them while replacing them with a plate or rod back to the bone in the lower hand. Itll be day surgery, but of course this means more recovery and more pain. This surgery, and others, have been expected, but I didnt think so soon. As we used to say in construction, it is what it is. Thanks for listening friends, and Happy Christmas. Peace!
