Update June 19 6:00 a.m. Fire Information Phone Number (928) 777-5682 Date/Time Started: June 18, 2013, reported at 11:30 am Location: 8 miles northwest of Prescott; burning near Granite Mountain Wilderness Cause: Human Fuels: Chaparral, Pinyon pine, juniper and ponderosa pine – Dense brush transitions to timber Size: Approximately 7,000 acres (acreage may change when aerial and ground mapping is completed) Percent Contained: 0 Resources Committed/Ordered: 3 Type 1 Air Tanker 4 Helicopters 16 Crews 27 Engines For a total of 512 personnel to date Tony Sciacca’s Southwest Area Type I Incident Management Team will arrive Wednesday, June 19 to assume management of the fire. Evacuations: Granite Basin Homes, Sundown Acres, Old Stage Acres, south half of Mint Creek, and American Ranch Neighborhoods on notice in Williamson Valley corridor for potential evacuation (Evacuation center at Yavapai College and for livestock at the Prescott Rodeo Grounds) Behavior: The fire was active overnight on the NE corner by the Williamson Valley Corridor and on the SW corner by Granite Mountain Wilderness. No structures have been lost and no injuries have occurred. For today: Anticipate using air tankers and helicopters again today, weather permitting.
