Update: Monday, October 12th., 2014 Bid on a Lunch or Dinner with a Celebrity Local Celebrity, Mr. Charlie Brennan, Radio Talk Show Host for KMOX 1120 am -The Voice of St. Louis has agreed to be auctioned off to the highest bidder for lunch or dinner in a Ferguson Restaurant. Details to worked out with Mr. Charlie Brennans schedule as his time permits. After last Thursdays Radio show when Dan Duncan and I appeared on KMOX, I asked Charlie Brennan if he could do the I Love Ferguson campaign a big favor. Explaining my idea of auctioning off a lunch or dinner in Ferguson with local and national celebrities. He said yes. This could be tremendous fundraiser to help the businesses damaged by the riots and civil unrest. Heres how this is going to work, I will ask our followers of I Love Ferguson campaign if they have a personal contact with local or a national celebrity. The celebrity should be prominent their field, past or present. In other words, have a high positive name recognition of celebrity stature. We are looking for radio, TV news anchors, columnists, authors, high ranking political figures, actors, CEOs of Major Corporations, major sports figures such as baseball, football, hockey players. The idea is to ask someone you or others would be willing donate money in order to have the honor to dine and have conversation with. All proceeds would go the I Love Ferguson Campaign in which All proceeds will be donated to a fund for the independent/ mom and pop businesses that were damaged. The higher the profile of the individual, the more money raised. Most people have some connection to someone of local or national fame and celebrity status. Wont you please make contact with a celebrity who can help these businesses recover from their loses. In some cases the celebrity may allow more than one winner to join him or her for lunch or dinner. Are you friends with or related to local or national celebrity. Maybe you are longtime friends with John Goodman, John Hamm, Mike Shannon, Ozzie Smith, Mike Bush, Dave Murray, Dan Dierdorf, Kevin Kline, Jackie Smith, Kurt Warner, Joe Buck, Senator Jean Carnahan, etc. We will ask our Ferguson Restaurants to sponsor the lunch or dinner. Depending on the celebrity this may bring media attention to the restaurant which would be a wonderful source of free advertizement. What do you feel the best way or ways to auction off our celebrities? Give me recommendations. ************************************************************************************* Buy a Heart for a Great Cause Another idea for a fundraiser. Sell hearts in the colors of White, Pink and Red. $3, $5 and $10 respectfully. The hearts would would be sold by participating Ferguson stores and restaurants. The heart would have the words I Love Ferguson with a blank line underneath to write your name on. The heart would be taped to a wall of the participating store or restaurant showing your support for Ferguson. Do you like the idea? Would you be willing to buy a Heart? All proceeds would go the I Love Ferguson Heart Campaign in which all proceeds will be donated to a fund for the independent/ mom and pop businesses that were damaged in the riots. ************************************************************************************** Christmas Ornament Contest Help design the I Love Ferguson Christmas ornament. Heres a little fum idea. A contest in which the I Love Ferguson followers will choose the design they believe is the best design. Heres the only rules: You must use the I (heart) Ferguson logo. At least one more week at the Corner Coffee House. We made excellent progress on the new permanent headquarters for the I Love Ferguson Store this past Saturday. However lots of painting. carpeting, floor stripping and polishing needs to be done before we can move the appliances and furniture in. We still need your help. If you are able to clean, patch, paint, or pick up appliances and furniture, let me know. Just call my cell number at the bottom of this post. Also needed tomorrow and the rest of the week are volunteers to staff the Corner Coffee House. Come in and pick a time slot. Volunteer as little or much as you wants.
