Update: Name Snow Creek Fire Incident Overview The Snow Creek Fire started on Aug. 11, 2013 within the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The fire was caused by lightning. The management objective of this fire is to the fire a natural role in wilderness and on the landscape while first providing for public and firefighter safety and protecting values at risk. The fire increased in size to 95 acres, fire behavior remains similar. The fire is still actively creeping as it burns through forest understory. Fire conditions are being monitored from Black Bear Cabin by fire personnel and by aerial reconnaissance. Crews continue to provide information trail and fire information from the Snow Creek and Damnation Fires. Smoldering burning towards Snow Creek is occurring. Growth Potential Medium Terrain Difficulty High Remarks Fire is located withing the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Fire will be managed to allow =fir to have a natural role in wilderness/landscape while first providing for public and firefighter safety and protecting values at risk.
