Update: Sunday, September 7, 2014. All roads in Orillia are open. Crews are now systematically doing a second sweep of all affected streets to ensure no hazards remain. An arborist will be assessing the damage today. They will be focusing on City parks, then moving through the residential areas. Couchiching Park is open, but Terry Fox Circle remains closed. Tudhope Park is also open, though select damaged areas remain closed. Please continue to avoid areas which have been marked with yellow tape. For your safety do not cross this tape. Pedestrians are asked to be aware of potential hazards above as they traverse through City trails and streets, as broken limbs can pose a risk. Please stay clear of areas where crews are present. By the end of the day Sunday, crews expect that the majority of damaged areas will be cleared and made safe.
