Update: The EA came for a look this morning. They took samples and measured dissolved oxygen. This came back on the lower side of okay. The brown tint to the water is also evidence of algae, so confirming what we knew, although there was reassurance that there is no immediate cause for alarm. I had 2 of the pumps running from 730 until 1630 today, another was brought down at end of play today. They were all switched off as the benefit Vs cost of running them through the day is minimal. Oxygen levels drop to their lowest overnight therefore they will all be switched on again at 11pm and run until the fuel runs out. We will be evaluating the situation each day and expect a few more fish to end up belly up no matter what we do. For them to be in use overnight there must be someone to look after them and refuel them as necessary (the 2 pumps did over £30 between them over 9 hours). Any questions?
