Update... Today pulmonary came in to stick a scope down Kylies vent tube in hopes of getting a better picture of whats going on from the inside and hopefully be able to suction out some of the junk from her lungs. Unfortunately, they were not able to suction as much as they would have liked for two reasons. 1. Kylies oxygen would drop and they would have to pull out and give her time, 2. She has a collapsed bronchial tube. We will be getting an EKG and an Echocardiogram done tomorrow to see if her heart is pushing against her bronchial tube not allowing it to expand. We will also be getting a CT scan as well. It could, however, also be caused by the amount of fluids Kylie is retaining. We will be looking further into getting the fluid off of her as well. That is what really sucks about DI (diabetes insidious), its a fine balance between getting the fluid off and maintaining her sodium levels. On the other hand, the actual infection seems to be improving. We will continue to take things one day at a time and keep moving forward. Please continue to share our page and posts.
