Update: Trajen continues to improve each day since being released on Friday evening. He is experiencing a lot of muscle weakness from the week in bed, but Richard has started doing some simple exercises in the evening with the little soldier that will hopefully help improve his strength and stamina and get his left leg to straighten out a little. We feel so happy and blessed to be at home! Yesterday, a special Stake Conference (church meeting) was called and Elder D. Todd Christofferson, a member of the 12 Apostles, came to speak to us. We believe that a prophet of God leads our church today through the direction of Jesus Christ, just as in Old Testament times and that our prophet (President Thomas S. Monson) is assisted by his two counselors and 12 Apostles- all of whom go about preaching to the world of Jesus Christ as His special witnesses. To have a member of the 12 Apostles come to a Stake Conference is a truly thrilling and rare event. He spoke on the importance of strong families, forgiving one another, loving each other, and especially of studying the gospel of Jesus Christ with our families so that our love and testimony of the Savior will be strong and unshakable during these difficult times. Richard had arrived at the meeting two hours early in order to be able to obtain good seats, and we were in the 4th row. I had a prayer in my heart during the entire meeting that Elder Christofferson would be able to shake our hands. Its been a trying 5 months and I truly desired that our family would have that opportunity. At the end of his talk, he said he would like to shake the hands of all of the children who were present. Richard and I just started crying, since my prayer had been answered! It was such a beautiful moment to carry Trajen to him so that he could speak to and shake Trajens hand. Its just another testimony to me that Heavenly Father is aware of our family and cares about the good desires of our hearts. I will never forget it. Thank you to everyone who purchased a t-shirt! There are only about 4 hours left in the campaign, so it is virtually over and was a success! I cant wait to see all of the pictures that Im hoping will be sent to me with you and your families in your Trajens Army t-shirts. I would love to post them, so if you send them to me its the same as giving me permission to post- unless you specifically ask me not to.
