Update: Well, I thought it could be a record breaking week - TopicsExpress

Update: Well, I thought it could be a record breaking week with a possible 1,000 diapers given out, however today we broke that and have given this week over 1,400 diapers! I wont list everything that went out this week but will give a brief overview: hundreds of items of clothing, 11 spring jackets, shoes, 9 cans of formula, 2 bouncers, blankets, shoes, socks, over 100 jars of baby food and much more. We also have a delivery to be made which will put us over 1500 diapers for the week. Whew! We had 4 new families this week and assisted 26 children and infants. One of my favorite moments this week came yesterday when a grandma came in to pick up pullups for a grandchild and brought her granddaughter (about 4 years old) with her. The grandma spied one of the beautiful, gauzy fancy dresses on the rack and told us her granddaughter had recently seen a similar dress on tv and asked her if she could buy it for her. The grandma showed the dress to the little girl and we checked and it was exactly her size! The little girl walked out hugging that dress to her face with a huge grin. She was simply over the moon! So fun to see those happy connections. Many thanks to Jessica Floyd for her hours of organizational help and to Mrs. Witt who came yesterday and helped pull winter things and organized and inventoried Spring jackets. Thank you to those who donated lovely things this week! Updated needs: As you can imagine, our diaper shelf looks pretty sad. We are completely out of size 3 and size 1 and only have one package of size 5. We are almost all out of wipes. We have several little boys in need of size 5T lighter jackets. We are looking for lighter jackets in all sizes. We are out of stage 1 baby foods. I will be at the First Presbyterian Church at 10 tomorrow to tell them a little bit about A Small Hand. :) Thank you for everything you do!
