Update Well as most of my friends know I have been in Waikato hospital now for close to 5 weeks, patiently waiting for my bypass surgery. The day has finally come and I am scheduled to go to theatre at 11 oclock this morning, being 2nd on the list. A busy day yesterday with registrars, Drs, anaethitists, surgeons etc and although I am filled with anxiety I will be pleased to get it over with so I can start the long road to recovery. I am all prepped , showered in special soap from head to toe, etc and ready for take off. nil by mouth once again............. BUT , (this is the hard part for me) , last night at close to 8pm the surgeon visited Vern and I and informed us that he has another lady patient who is in a very dangerous situation and depending on some tests they are running he may have to bump me off the list once again !! He will make a decision today by 9.30, and if that does happen I will be delayed till next week. !!!! I tried to be gracious as I dont want any ones Mums life put in danger but I (and Vern ) are understandably devastated. I will not have my phone on for a few days and will not be on here either but Vern will keep you updated. Quite a sleepless night despite a sedative, and hence the reason I started this update at 5am.!! Thank you all for your dozens of posts, txts , phone class over the last few weeks. I really appreciate the love and support from each and every one who has sent me well wishes. Please keep your fingers Xd for me that I dont have to sit here for another weekend. But also can I ask you to all think of the other unknown lady who is facing a difficult time. I adore the way FB has been able to bring me together with my family and friends, (even if I did have to increase my data 3 times this month !!! ). Catch you all soon. Love Shirley
