Update after doctor appointment: The doctor was very, very nice and spent a LOT of time with us. She confirmed what I already suspected that her condition will not improve that it will only continue to deteriorate. Her lungs are just so compromised from the cancer and the infections that there really are not a lot of options. She talked about doing a bronchoscopy but is concerned about the procedure due to her small 82 pound body. Anesthesia would be too risky. So........that is not an option. She wants to continue with home health several times a week and some light physical therapy every week and is scheduling an overnight test to check her oxygen levels while she sleeps. Her oxygen levels with no activity are very good but as soon as she moves around.....it drops. The overnight test will determine if she needs to be on oxygen. She was very positive in front of mama but very clear that this would just continue to progress. Im not really sure mama understood all of what she said. So.........for now...........we enjoy each day and give thanks for the ones we have.
