Update for Oopy. As of this morning I paid out of pocket to cover his vet bill, which if all he needed was surgery and medication was estimated at 240 dollars with proof that vaccinations were up to date. He was not, so bill went to 340 to bring him current. I paid that also. In the meantime she was using a funding site to raise money for his bill that she did not tell me (or anyone else that directly donated to the vet) had raised the 518 that the total bill went up to because of the dogs condition upon arrival. His nails were grown under, his fur was so matted with open, seriously infected wounds underneath them and the smell so terrible the techs had to bathe him and flea treat him immediately. Coming directly from the vets office, it was their opinion that oopy had been seriously neglected (and was suggested to me to call humane society) as well as seriously injured. Also, she continued to post after she knew the money raised already covered his bill in full, to ask for more donations. It isnt my job to judge but I will always speak up when I see something wrong. There is much more to it but this is enough to bring awareness to those of you that cared. To his owner: Shame on you. I couldnt sleep last night thinking about your poor dog that isnt mine or a stray and you showed up drunk at the vets ( per an employee) only after I offered to pay in full. He is your responsibility and you failed him and used good people to get money. If you dont use that money to pay his bill, youve committed fraud. Lastly, I hope karma catches up to you quickly if the law doesnt first. Just take a few more Xanax and ignore what you have done. Must be rough to sleep on a guilty conscience. For those that are concerned about oopys recovery, I will get an update tomorrow afternoon and post. If nothing else, oopy is going to be ok. Thank God.
