Update for the Robbery in M LhuillerPawnshop at SM City Mall in CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - An estimated P5 million worth of jewelry was carted by estimated 7 to 10 of armed men who robbed the said jewelry store at ground floor of SM City in Cagayan de Oro last night. In an interview of Bombo Radyo one of the local radio station to City Councilor Ramon Tabor, chairman on police, fire and public safety in the city council, He said, they were so shocked and cant believed that the suspect is able to get inside since the mall has the strictest security check among the malls in the city. He further said in an interview to him by Sunstar a daily newspaper in the locality, the CCTV showed four young males inside the jewelry shop and then two other males who came in the entrance near BDO bank pointed their guns at the security guards and asked them to drop and went shooting to create chaos. Tabor said the police and security agencies who provided security in the said establishment is set to be called to give explanation why the robbers has been able to get inside. Although, they have some suspect groups to look upon but they cant tell to the public while the pursuit operation of the police in going on. A lady security guard in the name of Ella Sul-aron, 47, a resident of Macanhan, Carmen in the City was wounded but has been given first aid by the Philippine Red Cross which came to respond with the emergency. The management of the mall has refused to give comments on the said incident. There were around 10 motorcycles serves as get away transport used by the thieves escape from the crimescene. Recovered from the crimescene is hammer and plenty of slugs of live ammunition when the suspects shoot in the air before finally escape from the said place. Tabor would request the photos of the jewelry that were stolen to trace where the suspects would possibly dispose the items. Asked if the robbers were identified, Tabor said the police suspected that they could be the same people who robbed an online casino games in an early morning on Monday at JR Borja Extension wherein an estimated of P45,000 from a collection was brought by the suspect of the said establishment.. “I won’t further comment since we need to get the full report, but they could be the same people who robbed the E-games over the weekend,” he said.
