Update for today....day 4 in the hospital. Doctors have identified what germ is causing problems and are giving antibiotics specific for this. He now has a PICC line--(long term IV) in his arm because he will be getting antibiotics at home for a few weeks. Still have not determine the exact location where the infection started and due to this the epidural block for his back pain is not an option. The doctors have his pain well controlled with low dose pain meds so Dad is staying comfortable. He rested well last night and is doing well thus far today. Thankful for the little naps and dozes he gets between procedures and checks from nurses/doctors. There are so many things to be done when youre sick! Little things really make him tired. We are blessed with a wonderful team of doctors working with dad along with a great nursing staff. I SLEPT and rested at Beths apartment last night. For all my little mother hens Im getting rest and nutrition and doing FINE! Keep the prayers coming. My gratitude and love to all!
