Update from Brother Aaron in Liberia: The New Hope Pregnancy - TopicsExpress

Update from Brother Aaron in Liberia: The New Hope Pregnancy Center in Gbarnga, Liberia, extends Godly gratitude to you all for the faithful prayers you continue to lift to the Lord on our behalf. Despite the Ebola crisis in the country, the center continues to provide counseling to teenagers in crisis. In August of this year, we had to closed for about three weeks because of the stress that was posed by the crisis. Almost everyone then was concerned about their individual family and health, and the volunteer counselors we have were of no exception. In fact, condition was worsen when one of the board members of the ministry died of the Ebola virus. Sister Nancy Sackie was one of the founding members of program, and one of the only two ladies who were on the board. She was also wife to one of our pastors, George Sackie. Please pray for that family, they need help. On the other hand, we have since encouraged our volunteers who are now very regular at the center. Though the turnout of clients is still not very encouraging, the center remains open with counselors regular and available to provide counseling. Interestingly, low turnout is a normal phenomenon in every sector of services for now. This is dependent on the fear that people still have to interact with others. Though this program does not require physical touch, people are just very skeptical of others, something that will take time to go away even after the Ebola is over. Please continue to pray for more encouragement to our volunteers. In this time of crisis, pray that we can be able to provide some extra food for them. Though we gave them some minimum amount of rice that they shared monthly, it will make a big difference and motivation to them at this time. Thank you for your tireless prayers for the ministry here in Gbarnga, Liberia.
