Update from CPS: At approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday CPS Energy employees contacted the SAFD to report a fire in a corrugated metal building near the JT Deely Power Plant, at Calaveras Power Station, on Calaveras Lake in South Bexar County. The 16,000 sq. ft. building is used as work space for CPS Energy employees and contractors, as well as warehouse space. There were no employees in the building at the time of the fire. There was no impact to the power plant equipment or any other infrastructure on site. Employees that worked in that building will be relocated Monday to other areas on site in order to continue normal business operations. The cause for the fire is still under investigation and an estimate of damages is undetermined.
