Update from Italy: Trains are expensive. I hate trains. If only Dagny Taggart were real. Buses are a terrible idea. I dislike public transportation in general. Now onto the good stuff! We made it Rome safe and sound. Went out and enjoyed the city for several hours today. Saw the Coliseum and several other monuments. Rome is pretty cool in general. Southern Italy is definitely were all the stereotypes come from. The drivers here are much more chaotic (and thats saying something!), they talk much more with their hands than in the north, they pop their collars and they scream alot. There are a decent number of beggers and street performers in Italy. However, Ill say this; the beggers here typically do offer some kind of legitimate service in exchange for dontations. The street performers are pretty amusing and definitely should be receiving money. Ok, now for what youve all been waiting for... BOXING NEWS! For those of you who were watching and feed cut out; we experienced a rain delay. For those of you who couldnt figure out how to watch it to begin with.... you experienced a brain delay. *insert John Mouser laughing* Jennifer Moreale fought a 4 round war with a tall Italian boxer from Puglia. Jenn showed tremendous improvement in overall speed and head movement. She landed several big overhand rights and some excellent hooks. Her opponent, however, was able to prevent Jenn from getting close enough to finish the fight. In the end, Jenn was out punched and lost a hard fought battle (by decision). We learned from this experience and wont let it slow us down! She will have another opportunity in the future and will capitalize on it. Thanks to all our supporters, training partners and coaches. You guys help out in so many ways! This isnt over, Jenn will be invited to the next tournament and will secure her spot on the Italian National Team!
