Update from Jill: This The honorable Judge residing over the case, like at the first evidentiary hearing of July 9th, today 8/4 invited me in to privately visit with Andrew for 20 minutes once the hearing was completed. Andrew was sad and frustrated that he was not released today though unlike in the USA, a case can not be dismissed spontaneously. This evidentiary hearing progressed well with Lic. Fernando Benitez expertly cross examining the four Mexican border officials (customs and military). The extended period of detainment at the border, approximately 8 hours was explored through the witness testimonies and cross examination. The Press Conference on 8/5 at noon PDT will assuredly reveal next steps as will be described by Mr. Benitez. In the 20 minutes that I visited with Andrew, I prayed over Andrew and asked that God, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continue to protect all involved including the prosecutors, the Honorable Judge, defense team, guards in El Hongo Prison & Serving California team as we patiently await the due process to advance towards a likely release. Andrew is most anxious to continue on with his life and PTSD treatment plan which was aborted on 3/31. The Mighty Oaks Foundation, a PTSD ranch is set to receive Andrew, just awaiting release. Andrew conveyed that he is humbly grateful for the out-pouring of prayers and support by the American public, those legislators continuing to champion for an expeditious due process as well as the local State Department under the direction of Mr. Veasy and Consul General Andrew Erickson who secured safe entry and exit for me today as well as will be delivering to Andrew shortly, the hundreds of well-wishes (letters) I collected while in Nebraska and Iowa this past weekend at the invitation of Congressman Lee Terry. review Andrews life, journeys and current tragedy at the andrewfreedomfund site: 4 minute film.
