Update from Lanay: Happy, sad, excited, grateful... just a few of the emotions this week has brought. In the middle of an interview about Jake and the miracle that is his life, we got a text telling us a boy wed prayed for this week had died. Peyton Flowers, in his 18 years, left a mark. I didnt know him, but learned a great deal about him this week solely based off of how much others thought of him. His reputation proceeded him. Please keep his family and friends, teammates and community in your prayers. We are currently in East Texas for my brothers wedding. Congrats to Chris and Brittany!! Im so happy to have her join our family! In Reno, one of the goals we had for Jake was to attend this wedding, healthy and whole. Im so grateful hes here with us, serving as an usher and I cant wait to see him in a tux tomorrow! We have had some amazing opportunities to share this story the last couple of weeks. Last week we talked with Dr. Roger Patterson; hes a friend of Keiths and pastor at West University Baptist. He was one of the first people Keith texted for prayer and followed Jakes recovery on Caring Bridge. He invited us to share Jakes story on his radio show, and that will air this coming up Sunday (Nov 8) at 9AM on Yahoo! Sports Radio 1560AM. Pray for anyone listening that they will see how God made something beautiful out of a very difficult time. Heres a segment that is on YouTube now: youtu.be/LsuYxYCZTcg /> The full interview will be available after Sunday on the Vision For Life website: visionforlife.org/#!vision-for-life-radio/c771 /> Also! We are going back to Nevada next weekend! Im so excited to see everyone and so grateful to our church for wanting to send us with an amazing camera crew to capture the story from the perspective of the responders, witnesses and hospital staff. We have an awesome church. I hope you can make plans to be at Second Baptist the weekend before Thanksgiving. The video will be shown at all campuses/all services (Nov 22/23). The one exception being the Woodway 11:11 service; it will be shown the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov 30). Go to second.org for service schedules or email me at prayingforjake@gmail! Our family is so grateful for these opportunities to tell about Gods amazing grace. This wedding weekend and this Thanksgiving season will be extra special.
